Men of Science (instrumental) (1982)
January 7, 2009
In 1982, four young men from Cheltenham in Australia formed ALLA PRIMA, a psychedelic rock experience like no other in the history of music.
This now rare and priceless document shows the band as they actually were in the early 1980s.
Clips for this music video were taken from super 8 films by David Kaneen (who was studying Art & Design at Caulfield Institute of Technology) and David Cox (who was studying media studies at Rusden College in Clayton).
Watch in amazement as the clock is wound back to 1982 and witness the extraordinary antics of those wild men of acid rock in Melbourne, twenty three years ago. Greg Hill, Ian Eccles Smith, David Cox and David Kaneen ARE Alla Prima – the first coat of paint on the canvas that is life itself.
This version of the song “MEN OF SCIENCE” is an instrumental recorded by David Cox with a Tascam 4-track cassette machine, but was later re-recorded by the ‘Prima on 8 track with vocals.
